Every year, more than 1200 people are killed and 44,000 seriously injured on Australian roads. National Road Safety Week is a time for us to remember those people who have lost their lives on our roads. We acknowledge the families left behind and urge communities will come together and make their pledge to ensure the roads are safe for everyone. To drive so others survive.

I will not shout at other drivers. I will not drive like I'm more important than everyone else on the road. I will not get angry when other people are inconsiderate. I will not use others' poor driving as an excuse to drive badly myself.

Fatigue can be as dangerous as drink driving. We need to shift community attitudes around driving tired.
