Motorcycle Clothing Assessment Program (MotoCAP) Rider Consultation

Motorcyclists are among our most vulnerable road users. It’s crucial to take precautions to protect yourself on the roads; riding to the road conditions, to your own conditions, the weather conditions, improving your skills, and wearing gear that will protect you if you do come off your bike.

Our Engagement team headed to York Motorcycle Festival last week for motorcycle safety week where they talked to riders about all things motorcycle safety, and one of the focuses was about the Motorcycle Clothing Assessment Program (MotoCAP). Obviously we only got a chance to talk to a small number of WA's motorcyclists at the festival, so we're taking this opportunity to expand our reach and engage with riders online.

Beki Bampton is a Policy Officer at the Road Safety Commission, and represents the Commission on the National MotoCAP Working Group. Hit play on the video below to watch a short 10 minute presentation from her about MotoCAP.

We'd really like to hear from you:

  • Take the MotoCAP survey below to help us better understand more about riders and their gear
  • Drop a MotoCAP question in the Q&A forum below for Beki to answer.
  • Share your stories and experiences about motorcycle gear in the 'Gear Stories' tab below

We'll have these open until May 7th, so you've got a few weeks to get involved before we analyse the information you've given us and use it to improve the way we promote and communicate with riders about MotoCAP.
